What's the point of those gel padded sandals?

I can't imagine that being comfortable for your feet at all, and I can just imagine the imprints they'll leave on your feet after an extended period of time..I tried on a pair today while looking for sandals and did not see any practical use for them at all. Maybe someone who owns a pair can shed some light on these?

Heh, I have a pair exactly like that. At first they were a little uncomfortable (the "spikes" were kinda stiff at first), but now they're okay. They don't really leave an imprint or anything.

they stimulate your soles...

I couldn't get used to them at first but now I can...

But in extended use my soles would get very raw and would hurt like a biach.
