the point is that the little peons get their rocks off by thinking that:
a) this board is somehow a democracy
b) they have any say in how said 'democracy' is run and can hold votes and elections and petitions and such
c) they must 'fight the power' ... even though the 'power' pays the bills.

B. Nobody wants a say in who is or isn't banned. What they want is a set of rules that will be followed fairly and not have judgments handed down on a whim.
C. If it weren't for the traffic these forums generate there wouldn't be any $ to pay the bills.

You're an ass-kisser. No human being could possibly believe a word of the BS you're spouting off.

A. which in turn has to do with democracy, since the kiddies think that since they're a member of this community they're like a stockholder and have say in what goes in the corporation. ATOT can have any kind of double standard they want.
B. the user in question had it coming for a long time anyway. this, i'm sure, pushed him over the edge.
C. i don't think ATOT helps anand's pocketbook any.

No. It's about basic fairness, and a complaint against the largely arbitrary moderation here.
Ummm....you were just the one saying that these forums are a dictatorship. You don't seem to have a problem with that, but when someone questions your motives you want to shut them down. Niiiiiiice....Originally posted by: Pepsi90919

go start your own damn forums if you want to run your own dictatorship.
A. i've been banned as well, but in a case such as this board where you have multiple moderators, each with different levels of edginess and trigger-happiness, i suppose a set of rules is a good idea.Originally posted by: shinerburke

A. No, it's about having rules that are followed by all. Right now punishment is handed out at times for no reason or explanation. I've been banned a couple of times myself by one Mod only to have another email me a day or so later and tell me I was unbanned because what the Mod that banned me did was wrong. If this place continues to function without rules we will continue to lose some of our best and oldest members.
B. Maybe he had it coming, maybe he didn't. If he did then they should have banned him for whatever he did at that time. Banning someone for an act after the fact is not a good way to do things. Would you spank a child three days after they did something? Punishment should be handed out at the time of an offense, not after.
C. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
no, i just don't like nanobug and didn't feel like devoting more than 5 seconds towards a comprehensible reply. if he feels confused or even somewhat vindicated by what i said, then more power to him. i don't care.Originally posted by: shinerburke
