I stand by my initial post. The OP is a jackass ;)

Really disappointed in your responses to this question dug. I have seen you post in other forums and usually enjoy your responses. You obviously are showing your lack of maturity here. in addressing his question or trying to be funny. Either way it takes away from what he is asking help on. :(

Are you his mother?!

twice in 18 months is a high rate of occurence, to them you should have higher rates because somehow you park, or do something that makes it more likely to happen again.

Why don't you pull that stick out of your ass and relax a bit instead of trying to raise people on this forum as your own. Nobody needs you to be a surrogate mother. Get a sense of humor and stop talking like you're all holy, mature, and better than us.

I wish you guys would learn to think just a little bit more.

because you have proven to be a liability and should foot a larger portion of the bill than those who havnt ?

So basically you're paying more for better coverage. If you have to use that coverage, you have to pay even more (not in all cases, but in my case it's the truth). I guess I'm not understanding why I was initially paying more per month for that coverage.

But consider; some states have mandatory collision coverage, on top of the mandatory liability policy, as well; so it's not only Michigan

I love Michicagn's no fault law too - except Michigan hates motorcycles. :(

Well, let's put it this way - in Illinois, the minimum auto insurance you have to have is liability only - meaning, if you're involved in a crash, your responsiblity to the other person is covered; but what about your car? Then you'd have to pay for the costs to get the vehicle fixed out of pocket, *unless* you pay the extra premiums to get collision coverage.

Most of the time, people can get away with not having full coverage; after all, most accidents happen to be minor fender-benders, or scratches - but when someone gets into a severe accident, can they afford to get the vehicle fixed out-of-pocket? That happened to me once when I was but a college -lad - of cours, I didnt have collision coverage, ho need that? And then I had to walk for two years. :(

If a car cost less than 8k, I don't buy full-coverage auto insurance. I'll take the chance but I would buy extra liability insurance vs. the minimum here in the state of Calif. Haven't had a accident that was my fault in the past 27 years and no moving violations for almost 33 years. I normally drive about 15k miles a year. The $$ I have saved so far, I can buy a new car!

Cars are just a tool and I don't go apesh*t over them like I use too.
