Myspace use to be a pretty cool site where you could keep intouch with current friends and make new ones.....I also used it as a dating site, cause i thought it was a great way to meet women without having to go through a personals site and be labeled a "loser" by some. Im not saying joining dating site makes you a loser , im saying some people consider would consider you one.

I have some what of an ego and i guess i feel by joining a personals site i would be advertising that i cant meet women off line and that i need help, which is not what i want people to think of me.

The truth is im far from ugly, i just have a unique personality and its not easy to find someone that "click" with.

Ever since myspace added its privacy features i havent really met a single person on there, everyone has their myspace to keep in touch with there current friends and dont give a damn about meeting new people......Its actually getting harder to find profiles that arent private anymore....you cant even put in a request to add these people cause they have blocked everyone they havent added them selfs.

if everyone has a private profile whats really the point of myspace ?

What is the point of having this in the Software forum?

Anyway, I only had interest in it when chicks were posting naughty photos of themselves. But by the time I bothered to check it out, they had clamped down on such activities. As I understand it came about from some underage girls posting innappropriate pics.
I think they ruined it for everyone.

I did have one lady friend who has a profile and she said I should join up so we could could keep in touch and maybe she would introduce me to some of her friends.
All the friends she told me about never responded to my IM's.

Havent had your problem with private profiles, but overall the site is useless to me.

I think myspace is just a trend. Before it, there was Xanga, and now...myspace...

*sigh*

Kids will almost do anything just to fit in, 😀 (Note that I said kids, by which I include teens, too)

Meh, I like it. It's just faster than email and is a pretty good way to keep in touch w/out draining phone minutes. Facebook is much cleaner and bug free, which I like... but it's pretty much just used for the same thing.

Keep in mind that if a profile is private, then they obviously don't want to meet new people. Since they have to go out of their way to set it to private, it's pretty obvious they'd rather not talk to anybody else.

gorcorps i agree with you but i thought the whole point of a social networking site was to meet new people but i could be wrong
