I am more worried about this kind of stuff than any nuclear threat from the far east.

What's the problem? People might want to eat two or three patties in a single bun for the sake of convenience.

It's healthier than two burgers because you save on the second helping of bread. Thus you won't fill guilty when you biggie size the fries*.

*Assumes you go with Diet Cola, otherwise you'll just asplode.

What's your point, if someones not concerned with their health, they'd just order 2 or 3 of whatever anyway. It's not fast food / manuf responsibility to make sure people eat responsibly and taking the crazy stuff off the menu isn't likely to make a difference (to how people eat).

1) You are supposed to eat about 8 oz of meat a day. If that double quarter pounder is your only meat for the day (it is very common to have many vegetarian meals in a meat eating diet), then it is the correct amount of meat to eat.

2) Many people fool themselves. "I'm only eating one burger". Then they think they are still on their diet. These same people would never eat two regular quarter pounders, since of course "only fat pigs would eat that much meat". It is basically the way for them to justify their level of hunger without dealing with the real issue. This describes my fat father exactly.

3) Any good hamburger place - not fast food - has at least 8 oz of meat on every burger. That amount of meat is the norm. You are just eating too much fast food if you think it is an outrageous amount of meat for a burger.

I find that commercial absolutely repugnant. And I like Wendy's.

It's low carb, baby! You would need to eat 3 quarter-pounders with cheese to make up for it, which means 3 buns. :p

And a double quarter pounder with cheese is only 730 calories. Really not that much on a 2000-2500 calorie diet.

jeez! I did not know they even had a triple whopper with cheese.

From their site:

1230 cal, 740 from fat, 82 grams of fat and it just gets worse from there!

Why not just stick a double whopper in a blender with biggie fries and make it a health shake.

Burger King should be charged with attempted manslaughter.

Most people who eat this will not likely eat a small salad and prunes for breakfast and dinner...

Nor should they, or are you under the mistaken impression that everyone should be on a 1,500 calorie per day diet?

Assuming that's all you eat. Most people get fries and a soda with that.

Just yesterday armed gunmen wearing Burger King uniforms hauled me out of my truck and forced me to consume an entire triple whopper with cheese meal.:roll::roll: How long have you worked for CSPI?

It's also 40 grams of fat, 19 of that is saturated. 160 mg of cholesterol and 1060 mg of sodium.

With medium fries and a medium coke, it's 1300 calories with 56 grams of fat, 22 saturated. Add another 500 mg of sodium.

Correct, again, your focus is off. Convince americans to eat healthy and if they do the food manuf. will follow to sell to them. Follow the Atkins trends, almost all chain restaurants have low carb choices now. Healthier eating has received focus, chains like McDonalds and Wendy's have responded with healthier alternatives on their menus, more Salad offerings, fruit side items, etc.

No one's forcing anyone to eat at these places, or what to eat when they go there.

If you are worried about Kids, blame the parents not the fast food chains.

In the US we don't blame parents for anything, we just call up some bored ambulance chasers and sue the bejeesus out of companies.

Nothing more satisfying than a nice triple-patty heart attack in a box!!! I enjoy stuffing my face until I am about to puke. Don't disciminate agianst fat people and take away our reason for living. The Bigger the Burger, the happier I am.

If you ask, they will make it higher. I worked at a Wendys for 3 years and in that time I made at least 10 quad-patty burgers, a few 6-patty burgers, even once somebody ate a 9-patty burger just to beat the current record at the store of 8.
