Man, you need to get some thicker skin.

My skin is plenty thick. I just don't see the difference between making "n---er" or "f---ot" jokes and jokes about a quadraplegic. And even though Maddox (

) says otherwise, Christopher Reeve has done more for people with handicaps than anyone here can ever dream of doing.

Make fun of him if you like, don't let me spoil the party, but it just seems idiotic to me.

So you're telling me that it didn't at least get a chuckle out of you??

Nope. What do a black person and an apple have in common?

They both look good hanging from a tree.

You're telling me you didn't even get a chuckle out of that? Come on, it's funny! Be damned if it makes fun of a characteristic of someone he can't change and shouldn't need to!

...

It's a little different when it's personal, eh?

to laugh about something is instinctive. when i read that i didnt choose to laugh, i laughed.
maybe i thought "oh man, thats terrible" but it doesnt change the fact that to me, it is funny on some level.

to the rest of you:
way to judge! good luck to you with that!

I didn't burst out laughing like I did with the Christopher Reeve joke, but I did crack a smile. I've heard that one many times and the different variations. It takes a lot to get under my skin and unless it's a blatant personal attack that was directly aimed at me and NOT made in jest, I'd pretty much roll with it.

I have an Asian friend that I kid around with. We go back and forth. He says things like "Sure is hot out here, but you're used to that after all of those years pickin' cotten." When he told me that, I about died laughing. Then I returned the favor and made a couple jokes about rice paddies. It's all good.

Life is too short to walk around with a stick up your ass...no offense to you or anything.

i think people get offended way too easily. everything has to be so pc that it takes the fun out of EVERY joke because SOMEONE has to cry about SOMETHING. jesus. i don't get offended by cracker jokes, and the apple/black person joke made me smile sort of, doesn't mean i'm a racist and i hate black people.

it's just a joke, settle the fsck down. 🙂

I agree. As long as it's between friends or in jest, I really don't take offense. I don't walk on pins and needles all the time. People in general aren't mean spirited and I don't think that NE1 here feels hatred towards Christopher Reeve...

But funny is funny IMHO
