Mine are some archived newsgroup posts from a doom level editing group, from when I was 15-16. Even back then, I was a dork.

This is the oldest trace I can find. My geocities site is older, but it has changed over time. I still play still TA from time to time...

lol... i did that... some group that was making the "ETERNITY" total conversion... I did the graphics for them, which consisted of stealing cool images off of websites and writing "ETERNITY" on them...

I remember back when I used to play duke3d on kali, maps became popular where you were on teams that faced eachother in two opposing forts, with no way to get to the other side. (the team thing was done by a set of teleporters at the beginning where you "picked your team" each time you respawned. FPS were a bit more honorable back then and it always seemed to work without any greifers.) I liked the concept so I expanded upon it with my own version which included a dangerous center walkway with good items, and a button that opened an automatic rocket gun that fired at players in the center. It was really popular about when I stopped playing duke3d.

I always thought those map packs were scams, their legality was suspect at best and the map makers that actually made the product never saw a dime from their sales.

I started the Accipiter Fan Club back in 96....people paid 10 dollars, and they were offically part of my fan club after that. I sent them a letter about my activities about every week or so.

Never saw a dime, but they did ask permission to use the map before they did.
The map was called "metropolis" and it was MUCH bigger then most of the other duke 3d maps out there ... file size was about 200Kb.

The same buddy and I made an even bigger and more complex map ... with a file size of over 350KB. eventually, the map got so complex that Duke3d refused to run it. :(

I hated all those little maps that newbs built in 15 minutes that had 2 rooms.
