I just found an old Gateway 2000 System CD(Came with a PII 266 with MMX) Fastest machine on the market at the time. Haha the newest file on it is from 7/9/1994. Oldest file being some diamond viper driver from 1990.
This is one of the pictures that was on it.

What other CD's do you guys(and girls) still have that work.
I kinda remember the games that came with the MMX machines back then. I think there was Eraser and Some car game supposedly they would run a billion times faster on a MMX machine.

i got my first CD drive in ~1995

3X SCSI from creative labs, it was a package upgrade deal with a sound blaster 16 , something like $350 for the drive, the sound card after the trade in of the sound blaster pro

so i probably have something from '95 around, i'll have to look when i get home or whatever

I had the 2x cdrom in some old ibm 25mhz boxes. The ones that had trayes for the cds to be loaded into before you inserted them.

That was when 4 mb of ram was $240.00.

Ahh...the memories.

I was more talking about Software but its kinda nice to reminesce on the hardware as well.

My first CD-ROM was a 1x soundblaster. The type you had to connect to the sound card and load super special drivers to get it to work under dos and windows. It was one of those you had to use Trays with. What a PAIN IN the A$$. kept the cds from scratching tho.

That was back when you HAD to keep every driver disk. if you lost one you where SOL.

I have quite a few cds older than 9-10 years old. I got Loom and Monkey Island when I bought my first (1x) cd-rom drive back in 1993. .

Edit: I have The 7th Guest too!
