I dont get it, its paper its made out of trees that are completely renewable. We waste tons of energy trying to recycle something that's made out of a renewable resource. Besides most of the deforestation is done to make room for farming anyways. I can understand trying to recycle things like plastic or metal since they are made from limited resources and plastic doesn't decompose very well, but paper really why its such a waste of time.

Old growth forests sequester far more carbon per acre than tree farms and support a much greater diversity of life.
Also, why use up landfill space?

Less air and water pollution, too.

Aside from this, paper doesn't degrade in a landfill. It just takes up room.

Well plastic is not really recycled since it takes more energy to recycle it then does to make new and most of the plastice is either dumped or what little is recycled is made into unrecyclable products but paper is much easier to recycle then it is to make new.

Also you reduce pollution a lot by recycling paper.

i was not being serious.

water is not a renewable resource either, so do not shower

It gets recycled also. It goes to the treatment plant and recycled as our tap water all over again. YAY!!!!!

I know you weren't being serious. I was messing with you. Taking advantage of your drunken-ness.

Landfill space is not recyclable (at least in the short -medium term, likely we will eventually mine them). Landfill space is expensive and inerts such as paper and yard wastes are a waste of that space.

Also, if you fail to recycle paper you are a bad person.

It's worth recycling because it's cheap to process and can easily be incorporated into saleable goods. It's a perfect recyclable material.

In my opinion it's typically very easy to recycle, for me it probably adds just a few minutes of work each week to pull the extra can to the road. When something that has good consequences can be done so incredibly easily you really have to be a lazy bum to fight doing it. The time that you took to whine about recycling paper probably took longer than it will take me to do my recycling for the week.

Oh, come on......if you don't recycle paper, where would all the public rest rooms be able to get the scratchy, dry, uncomfortable toilet paper for people to use?? Do you really want them to have to get nice toilet paper for you to use on your tender bottom??

GET WITH THE PROGRAM, MAN!!!
