What's the normal way of doing

doing sales/trades on Anandtech. More specifically, when you send something to someone, how long should you wait to get a PM?

I know it's probably no big thing, but I'm sorta confused nonetheless and wanted atot's opinion:
I'm buying a cheap computer part ($10) from someone and I sent a check a while back. I didn't get a reply until I send a PM first. I didn't get a reply right away despite him being logged on the day after I sent the message. He replied afterwards saying "I might have gotten it, what's the name on the check?". A few days later he confirmed that he got it and he'd send out the card when the check cleared. This was on the 11th

So yesterday I sent him a PM asking him how things are and to PM when he got a chance. I haven't gotten a reply but he signed on earlier today.

Like I said, it's $10 and I don't really care but in the small amount of online dealing I've been through, I've had nothing but super fast and helpful replies. Is this normal or am I just unlucky?

If they are beyond a reasonable time, i would leave a neutral or negative. Communication is key.

I'm not angry or impatient, just confused. Just wanted to check with the pros as I've made few transactions online

I agree, being lazy is not an excuse for taking days to answer. If you're selling something, it's common courtesy to send off a reply within a day. Obviously people have jobs and other priorities, but sending a reply takes at most 2 minutes. I'd leave neutral feedback if you get the product within a reasonable amount time, and negative if it takes longer than usual.

I can't leave feedback since I'm not a part of heat or whatever else you leave feedback with.

I can understand it taking a while but I'm surprised he hasn't responded to the PM(s)...

it happens...I always ship the same day the payment clears and respond to pm or emails the day I get them. But others are just too "busy"....register at http://www.heatware.com and leave the appropriate feedback.

Sounds like that guy is a bad trader.
