Whats the next gadget or tweak you can't wait to come out. Small or large for whatever reason. Whats going to be the next big thing say within 3months?

Whats going to drive prices up or down? . Something intergrating into the chipset. automatic liquid nitro cooling...make you go I wish I had that, bought then or got X instead of Y. More boards with firewire...
I know KT333 is out and is what I'm looking at but whats next, whats that going to bring out of the back labs.

Basically I'm looking for the sweet spot in a very dymanic market.

I'm kicking around building a new system but I don't need one right now.

Internal firewire connectors. If they're gonna be on the board (a whole different discussion) use them to the max.

Unless I'm missed them, they're not there yet. Some to be hooked up to front panels and please please please USB or Firewire floppy drives. Just so long as it's bootable. Yeah, I know, floppies are old and they suck, but if they're moved off to one of those buses then the floppy controller can be axed. To the pleasure and relief of both legacy free people and those who still need their floppy drive. :)

Also it'd seem to make sense to put CDroms on internal firewire, wouldn't it? Or if it wouldn't, why not... Ok, only talking 400Mbit (around 40 meg/second, right?) but that's plenty for current generation CDroms and burners and would free up IDE channels. And (according to Apple's page) with being able to hook up 63 devices there'd be plenty of room for them on the bus.

3 and 4 GHz processors. They aren't that far off either. I hope there are Northwoods well into the 3GHz range so I can upgrade in a year or so (just like how the Pentium 1 went from 60 Mhz - 233 MHz I hope the P4 can go from 1.3 GHz to 3-4 GHz :))

Oh yeah and dual-channel DDR SDRAM (Using DDR333 and DDR400). This should crush RAMBUS.

Having some internal devices on an internal firewire would be sweet especially if the interface and packaging could be worked out so it could be easily an internal or external device. I like the floppy idea as well. And I have an internal ZIP drive that I don't use often enough to waste an IDE.

Whats going to happen in the near future?
Hammer comes out what second half of 02?

i want to see how thoroughbred can keep up with P4. Other than the added cache, there are "some" architechtural enhancements..... Text Right now, the top speed P4 is outperform XP.

Even though nobody in the non-workstation/server market needs it, I can't wait for HAMMER!!! It is just such a cool looking product I can't wait for!!!!! I also am looking forward to the next gen products from ATi and nVidia (R300 and NV30).

A version of CPUFSB that fully supports the AK35GTR motherboard. :p

Actually, all I'm looking for right now is a good Geforce4 at a good price. ;)

PCI-X. Its been awhile since I've built one but I think I remember that from compaq servers. Whats the edge there?

I read in another post that P4s will be dropping 25% some time soon. True? Wouldn't AMD drop as well?
