Is there any new games in the (near) future which are like Minecraft with huge worlds and base building and exploration and all that look really good?
You mean using smaller blocks? Is there ever going to be a minecraft-like game that allows higher resolution stuff?
I hope there isn't one to be honest.
Seen this a while ago. Not sure if it will blow up.. https://picroma.com/cubeworld

One thing Minecraft in my opinion has over any other types of games in the LEGO category is the allowing to build functioning logic for powering the various mechanics of the game (Redstone).
This is huge for me and why I can't see another game taking off because it definitely will lack this.
Why?
LOL! Use your imagination.Cause what it tells the industry is that games can have no story, no work on a graphics engine, no point to the gameplay, and be full of griefers and it is OK.
