What's the next great FPS game?

I finished F.E.A.R. a while back (great game, but a little too short) and I've found a void in the single player oriented FPS genre. Please tell me there is something else on the horizon (or even out) that will satisfy me.

EDIT: Here are links to some of the games you guys recommended...

PREY

Oblivion

Stalker

Hellgate: London (Trailer)

Bioshock (couldn't find much)

Prey looks REAL good. It's built on the D3 engine so I shouldn't have a problem running it full detail either.

What's so great about it? From what I've heard, it's almost as old as Duke Nukem Forever, and the Doom 3/Quake 4 engine isn't very good anyways.

Prey official site

Take a look for yourself. Also, don't forget that we all have our own opinions.

Doom3 engine is one of the best on the market. And Prey is older than DNF if memory serves correctly. It was once coined to revolutionize the FPS genre with 4 dimensional technology, but it turned into vaporware. Now it is finally becoming a reality and by the looks of it, will make for a good game.

Bioshock may very well be the next "great" though.

I edited the first post with several of the choices given here. I gotta say that PREY looks really good and the trailer for Hellgate looks awesome, but the in game movies have me a little worried. I didn't care much for Elder Scrolls III, so Oblivion isn't even on my radar.

Anyone else? Anthing good on that's on the shelves today? I was thinking of playing FarCry again with the new updates/features, but I'm just not motivated to do so.

Until then, I'll be playing SOF2 Multiplayer; my classic goto game.

I'm having a hard time getting into FEAR...it just doesnt scare me, and i find that fighting a few guys, then running for a few minutes and fighting a few more guys gets rather boring. I feel like too many triggers are present....Is it really worth finishing? I may just sell it...

FEAR has its faults, but one thing they didn't skimp on was the utter joy of killing NPC's, especially in bullet-time. Online isn't bad either. One other thing, did you REALLY expect to be scared by an FPS?

Headcrabs are VERY annoying, yeah. 😉 The black ones in HL2 even moreso. I guess I took the little girl and the disappearing acts as part of the telling of the story. You should try to finish it just so you'll know what it was all about.
