I see that there's a 2003 version, Is there a newer one. Anyone know when say the 2005 version will be out. I wanna buy the student version for MBA school but don't wanna get the 2003 version like 2 months before the 2005 comes out.

I would suggest http://www.openoffice.org as a possible option.

Free suite of programs very very similar to MS Office. Its even free! It will open and save files as MS Office files (although, macros cant be cross converted) or it will save in its own xml format (MS themselves are switching to an xml format in their next version). Did I mention its free? It also works on Linux and Mac's. Version 2 is still in the beta phase, but the build I have been using is pretty solid, and you could always stick with the 1.4 until 2.0 is officially done. And you can download it without having to use a credit card or nothing, cause its free!

According to partner sources who requested anonymity, Microsoft has established an internal Office 12 ship calendar that pegs Office Beta 1 availability for August 29, 2005. Beta 2 is slated for December 5, 2005. The internal release-to-manufacturing target is May 22, 2006. And the target for "street" availability for the Office 12 System is July 17, 2006, the sources said.

How come no one mentioned about Corel WordPerfect? It costs cheaper than MS Office.
