What's the new type of ice cream, dibble dots or something?

I heard about this somewhere, they make ice cream a new way, by instant freezing or such.
It comes out in in little balls, I think.
Anyone hear of this or try this?

I forget the name. Jordan's Furniture used to serve it free in their stores. Fucking delicious.

I've never tried that stuff. It really does not look all that appetizing to be honest, I'd rather just have regular ice cream.

Really are it is are tiny spheres of ice cream. The taste and texture really isn't very different.

I think both the taste and texture are different. I also think that Dippin' Dots are way too cold (they hurt my mouth as a result...like super-crunchy cereals).

Regular ice cream is so much better.

Too much complexity of desserts. It wastes precious ice cream eating time.

Haagen Dasz's sticky toffee pudding and waffle cone explosion ice creams are absolutely glorious!

I never really liked haagen dasz, with the exception of their ice cream bars.

Speaking of which, if you haven't tried it I think B&J Americone Dream is the best tub ice cream out right now. Haven't tried this Haagen Dasz reserve caramel though, which is also supposed to be godly...

My kids like IttiBitz better, they cost a lot less than Dippin Dots. Same thing. I think there are other brands too.

Dippin Dots? They've been out for years now...

Seriously, I remember this shit in jr high

I guess I was the last to know.

How they are made:

Dippin' Dots is an ice cream snack, invented by Southern Illinois University Carbondale graduate Curt Jones in 1988 . The confection is created by flash freezing ice cream mix in liquid nitrogen; consequently, Dippin' Dots contain less air than conventional ice cream. The resulting small spheres of ice cream are stored at temperatures ranging from -70 to -20 °F (from -57°C to -29°C). The marketing slogan is "Ice Cream of the Future"

I'll have to check that out. I typically do not enjoy Ben & Jerry's all that much, but anything that has coney bits in it is worth a try in my books.
