The problem with powerfull IGP is not only the cost of cpu die space, but also the additional heat generation on CPU. Having said that, eventually there will be an IGP that can run crysis not not any time soon. IGPs will probably always be simmilar to game consoles.

well stated, I agree

Integrated graphics are useful when you build a new Ivy Bridge computer and YOU CAN't FREAKING find a GTX 680 at near MSRP!!! At least you can tell if all the new components are working OK.

Resident Evil 5 running on Llano IGP @ 1680 x 1050 with 2x MSAA and High details http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIMHYwhRx-E

AMD A8-3870K @ 3.3 GHz
Radeon HD 6550D @ 757 MHz
NB @ 900 MHz
4GBx2 DDR3 1866 CL9

I only used the camera of Samsung Galaxy S II coz using Bandicam makes the frame rate drop to ~30fps. As you can see in the video, the game is very playable when there is no video recording software running in the background

1280 x 720
4x MSAA
High detail preset

Again, using Bandicam for video recording considerably affects the frame rate. I used the camera of Samsung Galaxy S II for recording the video
