what's the name of the word-processing software

it's like latec or something, it's sort of like html except for documents.

i'm trying to figure out how to import references from that into endnote, but i can't remember the name of the original software making searches difficult.

it's a program used a lot of times for techincal theses because of the ability to format mathematical equations correctly (ie integrals).

actually, it seems pretty powerful once you get into it, but for writing a basic design doc and program manual for our CSE class, it was just a pain. why bother coding a document from scratch with embedded images, links, etc., when you can use Word or any other WYSIWYG word processor and do it in five minutes?
