What's the name of the game....

It's a space shooing type game and was available in the arcades. You could upgrade weapons and one of them was this huge purple beam that could bend. The gameplay was very similar to this game.

There were many versions of raiden. All were awesome games.

Those side scrolling (well veritcal scrolling here) games are the best in arcades!
