I dont know how to search for this part, cause I dont know what its called.

Its thin white ribbon with 10 strips, looks like tin foil.
Know of anywhere to order this stuff from??? Maybe MOUSER ELECTRONICS?

They are called ribbon cables. Dongles attach to PCMCIA cards to receive fregualr cables such as telephone and Cat 5.

But, that will not usually halp you. You must get specific about laptop brand and model number. All brands do not use the same nomenclature. And what specific components does the cable you want connect together.

Where can I get these Ribbon Cables. Its for a Sony pcg-954b (if memory serves correctly)
and is the connection between the power button and motherboard.

I tried Sony Support. And well Sony just SUCKS for support. But we all know that. And the web site is difficult to get anything useful out of.

what's the model number of the sony... not the part# from the bottom (which is what the 954b is) It'll be on the front. ex: PCG-V505. Sony will almost always start with a letter after the PCG- part. Since you mentioned it's white, I'm guessing it's either an FX or an FR series.

If it is not a user replaceable part, you probably cannot get it from Sony. When all else fails, try finding your specific laptop on EBay and , if necessary, buy a used one for parts.
