What's the most valuable item that you lost or gotten stolen?

Well?

I really can't think of anything off the top of my head, so I guess I actually have never lost an item of significant value.

Hopefully it will remain that way, but sometimes bad things happen... Hopefully karma is in my favor.

$350 watch in college. Not expensive compared to what watches could cost but in college, having owned it for a week, that hurt.

I have to think about it.

I remember losing a nearly brand-new limited-edition collectible GBA SP (some Donkey Kong green theme, really an awesome color) with a brand-new game ("Yoshi's Island"). Had several hundred dollars worth of Gamecube stuff stolen all at once (including an ethernet broadband network adapter that was already hard to find at that point).

...oh, and a folder with a few hundred legit PC games and CD inserts (serial keys and everything). That hurt the most.

I can't really remember anything I lost, but my ex once lost a $200 necklace that I got her in HS. Of course, I bought her a new one (senior year of college at that point), and we broke up two weeks later.

I've lost more valuable things, but the one that I still think about in my black crackle finish Zippo, with an art deco Camel design. It fell out of my pocket in WV when I was changing into my wetsuit. When I noticed it missing, I knew exactly where it was, but it would have been a 3 hour drive to retrieve it :^(

ex-wife stole some silver dollar coins my great-grandmother gave me, and my first shotgun my mom and dad gave me.

How do you put a dollar value on something that can not be replaced.

When I was younger, my mom and I rented part of a house. While we were moving out, the house owners stole my $500 stereo and my mom's $1400 vacuum cleaner. We knew it was them but we couldn't prove it. The deputy even threatened us with jail if he had to come out there again...great guy. Only negative experience I've ever had with a law enforcement officer.

There are $1,400 vacuum cleaners?

Many years ago my 24mm Nikon lens fell out of my backpack. I also had about $20 stolen from a backpack in Hungary.

car, magic card deck, etc

Just last year this time my nice 5.11 tactical jacket (Monterey style) was stolen from class with a nice Fisher bullet pen in it. Total value: 170.
Of course, the times I been ripped off on cars or maintenance shouldnt really count, but that would be in the 10's of thousands.

Oh, and after my dad died a lot of his shit went missing when it made the transition to storage. Especially the old record albums and such. And a nice coin collection. And quite a few other things.

I had a 1970's vintage Motobecane Le Champion road racing bicycle stolen from me in the early 90s (original French made bike, not the made in Taiwan shit they pass off under that name today). I loved that bike, it was hand made by French craftsmen with a beautiful brazed lugged Reynolds 531 steel frame and Campagnolo Nuovo Record components, it even had sewup rims. It was around 21lbs in my size and I've never seen another one like it for sale since. I'd love to kill the bastard who stole it. I really hope there is a special place in hell for that asshole. I would still own that bike today if it weren't for that fuck.

This was my burglary list top 10:
1) Sony Vaio PCG-GR5E/BP (238000 yen) $2,546.00
2) CD's See separate list $1,499.17
3) $800 cash, 36,000 yen, singapore coins $1,188.00
4) HP Scanjet 4c $903.70
5) Compaq Armada M700 $785.00
6) Craftsman 3100psi Pressure Washer #580.752230 $776.36
Craftsman 165psi Compressor #919.167600 (bought with above)
7) RoomsToGo Sloan Coffee Table (includes end tables) $577.00
8) 299 piece sockets 35299 $511.19
9) Wedding Bands Jared White Gold 4mm $509.07
10) Japanese to English Dictionary SRT7000 and adapter $304.95

Sadly item #1 capped my 'computer' limit that was in a rider I missed when I signed the policy. So items #4 and 5 were hard losses (along with alot of other computer items).

The cash and jewlery wasn't covered except for $1200

🙁 the worst wasn't one item but almost $5000 in stuff that I had that was stolen but beyond the limits of my policy.

Sorry bro I think we are going to have to see receipts for those things...

A brand new iPod in first year uni. I was drinking and left my room door open to go to another room for a minute and when I came back it was gone. Had only a couple hours on it.

I think it was something like ~$400.
