What's the most unsafe thing you've seen on the road?

I saw a 4-banger ford ranger towing a John Deere backhoe on a dualie trailer, complete with pintle hook hitch. He had to be towing close to 5 tons. Of course, he had his hazard lights on.

Another time I saw a ford ranger towing a grand caravan on a dualie trailer going 65 on the expressway.

A u-haul moving truck filled to the brim with boxes, furniture, washing machine, big applicances. I could tell this because the back door was fully open. Some guy was sitting on the floor, legs hanging down on the rear bumper, and he was holding a bookcase to prevent it from toppling out the back. BTW, the truck was going 60 on the expressway.

Our neighbor when I was growing up used to shovel his 4 kids (all under 6) into the back of his truck, regardless of distance and temperature. It had a cap, of course.

A mid eighties Honda Civic with several sheets of half inch plywood tied to the roof with eight foot plastic pipes sticking out the side window towing a overloaded U-Haul trailer with a flat tire on the highway.

An old truck, I don't know what type but it is pretty old. It is the kind that they put some wooden (?) fence. Well the driver chose to load it up with use/old tires. As I pass it, one of the tire got fall off and the cars behind start weaving around to doge it. This is on a highway and everyone pretty much go about 65 mph. Pretty crazy.

I saw two dumbasses on motorcycles doing extended wheelies on the interstate at about 75 miles an hour.

I did not know whether to speed up and get in front of them so I owuld not have to see them splatter. Or slow down and miss it, but get stuck in traffic when the wrecked. They eventually sped off in the distance.

Whats wrong with drdving 60mph in the snow ??? Around here on the expressways most people do at least 60 in mid to heavy snow ... only when the visibilly is Crap do people slow down to less than 60.

One of the Dualies coming off a semi doing 70+mph and heading toward oncoming traffic also doing at least 70+mph on I-70 near St. Louis, MO (actually st. peters for those whom know the area) .............................I happened to be approaching the semi to pass in the left lane when I saw it come loose and take off down the hwy...........................I kept going but soon heard about the mess it made on the radio..................caused a 7 vehicle pile up and closed West bound I-70 for 2 hours during rush hour on a Fri evening.................................

You are driving 60 mph, everyone following at the traditional Boston distance when a one car spins out of control. Guess what happens next

The reference to SUV's is this- Most vehicles spun out in the ditch seem to be SUV's least round these parts. I know an EMT, and he remarked to me about this. He often was told by the driver something like "I don't understand, I have four wheel drive".

When I was 17 in my dad's new maxima I took a corner in either a 60 or an 80 zone at about 140 km/hour and, knowing that I wouldn't make the corner (it was a left), I had to veer into the oncoming lane to give me enough slide room so that I wouldn't fly off the road and kill my friend and I. Thankfully no car was oncoming, but it was still a very nasty situation. Kids will be kids though ! :p

Heh . yeah kids will be kids. Driving 210 km/h in a 88 toyota camry that had 230+ thousand km on it and bald tires on the 400 north.

Otherwise, SUV's driving fast in the snow, SUV's driving fast period. It seems that SUV driver's have the same mentality, "It's okay if I get into an accident, I have an SUV, I'll be safe" .. meanwhile, little mom and her kid in the civic are crushed to death by the glutton in the SUV.

i'm confused. was it rush hour? was it a curvy road? were kids running about?
