MSI 815E Pro
Asus CUSL2 / CUSL2-C

I don't think I've ever seen any motherboard that was perfect and had zero problems and I've seen quite a few of them. Of course, I'd be happy for someone to prove me wrong on this point.

At this point, about the best boards readilly available would be the Asus CUSL2 or the MSI 815E Pro. Also, the CUSL2-C, when it's around.

Another vote for the ASUS CUSL2-C.

I've had 3 cusl2's, lovely boards. My favorite motherboard ever... And I have used a couple BX6r2s, BE6's, BP6's, P3BFs, P2BF, CUBX, P3V4X, etc etc...

Truly the most stable socket board would be the Intel Easton D815EEAL motherboard.....

But my own preference runs towards the ASUS CUSL2 and CUSL2-C.

Actually yes! I've had a Dell Dimension XPS R350 for over 2 years now, and it wasnt until recently that i've gotten this system to run smoothly without freezing up every five minutes. i'm running a slot-1 PII 350 mHz on an Intel SE 440BX mainboard. now i know intel is known for producing some of the most stable motherboards, if not the most stable baords ever, but for almost 2 years i put up with a system that would freeze all the time. i did everything i could to troubleshoot the problem, and after weeks of going over it, i came to the conclusion that it was the mobo...i just knew the mobo was the problem. anyways, after going through weeks of troubleshooting, this time with Dell tech support (who insisted it was software related...dummies, what do they know), they sent me a new mobo. it was the same mobo i had, replaced free under warrantee. my new SE 440BX is so stable that i doubt i'll ever come across another mobo this stable. although my frist one was a lemon, i have faith in intel, and boy did they come through for me :)

well its been over 24 hours since this thread was bumped to "has anyone ever had an unstable intel mobo?", and it seems i've had the only response to the question...i guess that means nobody has ever had an unstable intel mobo...?

...i really want to get this thread moving again b/c i would really like to know if anyone has had a buggy intel mainboard or at least a lemon...
