Hi I have been running at 917mhz with my p3 700 and cusl2 mb for a couple months now as my first overclock project but now I'm greedy and want to get something better and be done with it for atleast a year. I want to get my cpu up to 1.1+ ghz so that means I must need and amd chip but I don't have experience with this kind of stuff. I will overclock just til the computer is stable and only want to use regular heatsink/fans on the cpu. I definately want the motherboard stable though and with the latest features(ata 100 4xagp?)

I'll be using
sound blaster live platinum 5.1
kenwood 72x cd rom
30gb ata 100 ibm hard drive
will purchase best new video card(undecided as of now?)
will get atleast 256mb of fastest ram for the setup

So I was just wondering if anybody think its a bad time to be doing this in the next 3 weeks or should I wait for anything on the horizon?

If not whats the best cpu to get to these speeds that I can overclock and is most price effective to get to over 1.1ghz?

also opinions on the best video card to be out in the next month would be appreciated also

I think your best bet would be a MSI K7T Pro and a AMD T-Bird 1.2G. You will still need a good heatsink/fan for your CPU though. And from what I've heard the K7T is the most stable Socket-A board out there.
