What's the most powerful 802.11b PC Card?

I am looking to replace my lappys PC card as I have moved the office in my house all the way to the back, and now my PC card (SMC) has really really poor reception. I have a Microsoft MN500 wireless base station, so maybe upgrading the base station is better?

We have our DSL modem/Microsoft MN-500 WAP in the basement ... even considering that I get EXCELLENT signal strength on my Compaq Presario 1500T laptop equipped with Dell TM 1150.

is that a rebadge of the gold or silver?
a silver can be picked up for about $35 shipped these days and a gold for about $45.

What Ross said ... i have the 1150 that i got for about 30 bucks from dell and get excellent signal everywhere in my house.. I am using a netgear mr814, which i got for about 10 bucks AR

I believe Gold because I have 128 bit WEP enabled just fine.

My MN-500 rocks too...

Took the lappy to the pool (downstairs, like 5 walls between my apartment and where I was sitting, 200 ft or so) and it worked with the USR G card. Not full speed, but still good enough to surf with!

I love my Microsoft MN-500 and it's ON SALE for $20 after MIRs this week @ OM.

Setup is super quick and easy, excellent signal strength and range even with 128 bit WEP, SSID and MAC all enabled.
