I know its terrible but I know so many people who have had "only a few" before driving...

-----

I got pulled over once at a sobriety check point. Told the cop I only had a few, and I only drove cuz my friend was sick. Luckily I was right under the legal limit... the cop lectured me and then let me go... My friend then proceeded to puke right next to the sobriety check point...

Know your limits. A beer or a glass of wine with dinner has never impaired my driving abilities.

I put "more than 7".

But then again i'm a big dude, 5 in one hour + a 1 drink per hour pace thereafter keeps me around the legal limit. I just wait an extra couple hours drinking water, and I'm good to go.

Last time I participated in a thread like this and discussed the exceptionally stupid moments of my youth, I came close to getting a ban. So, I'll just say that I have definately driven when I most definately should not have.

7+ a few times...

I am not proud BUT I will have to say that the loss of acemcmac hit a little close to home and I have not driven drunk since.

If I know that I will be drinking and driving home later, I stick to the one beer an hour rule.

I have a very "painted" past. Once I had "more than 7" and accidentally cut someone's hand open with a katana. So I drove him to the emergency room. Half of the way there, I was driving with the driver-side door open, leaning out, spewing on the pavement...

I have done some dumb things in my life as well, I def regret them and haven't for quite a while.

You should make the poll something like...
Have drive with a couple in me, no buzz
Have driven buzzed, not a problem
Have drive buzzed, at least I thought I was buzzed, but it was much worse
Have driven but probably shouldn't have
Have driven when in retrospect I know I shouldn't have
Have driven and I know I shouldn't
Have driven and don't know how you made it home alive
Have driven and don't even remember it

I could answer yes to every option in that poll.

4 pitchers of beer by myself in about 6 hours. i was 6'1" and about 230 at the time. needless to say i shouldn't have been behind the wheel. i was extremely lucky that nothing happened. the next morning i realized how utterly moronic i was and i haven't done anything that stupid since.

I got pulled over when i was drunk (and stoned) one time when i was younger. Its a long story, but thanks to connections i was let go. I was an idiot for being talked into driving that time. Since then, the most i have had before driving was one beer.

I could too. I voted for "I woke up in the morning and somehow me and my car had reached home" - just once, never again. Scariest experience of my life.

I once blew a .30 on the breathalyzer at a bar, then we had a few more so I'm sure I went a bit higher. I don't recall many times being more drunk then that. I drove there, but someone else drove us home.

I would doubt you'd be drunker than a .30. That's close to being in an alcohol coma.

I was an idiot for driving like that too. Now I'll have one or two but never enough to impair my judgement when driving.

I've woken up several times and before opening my eyes thought 'please let me be in a happy place'. Miraculously I've been in my bed every time though once it was without my wallet/id/phone. I have friends who have woken up passed out in their front yard after driving.
