What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought?

Does a motorcycle count? Otherwise it's a tossup between my newest road bike and my wife's engagement ring. ;)

Comparatively?

My $175 Kate Spade purse - just because usually I don't spend more than $20 on a handbag.

Also my car and couch.

/me waits for single computer geeks to come out to tell us you are a fool to spend that much money, and how they would dump her if she doesn't like his 10$ engagement ring*

This I don't get. Sure it kicks ass for a year or so, but then you upgrade again. I wait until things drop off the bleeding-edge-high-price shelf and then buy.

Of course, I spent about the same amount of money on a bicycle, but it won't need upgrades in a year. ;)

House, maxima, 93 sentra, 89 accord, engagement ring

In that order.

Ah, no car, basically just the engagement ring then ~$1500. I'm not a big spender!

Computer, just short of $2,000.

Soon to be overtaken by the new engine for my car.

And that's why it's called the Skoorb effect. :)

I guess my Xbox. $300 for the package I bought, had two games, 2 controllers or something. It was still retailing for $300 at the time.
