Just asking since I use Steam (almost) exclusively; I've always waited (esp. on single player games) on new release games to either go down in price or to go on one of their firesales (holiday, summer, etc.) - this has been a habit even growing up - either because my PC at the time didn't have the specs for the newest and the greatest, or because I was a starving college student.

The highest I've pad for a Steam title that I can think of (outside of publisher packs) would be Brink at $25 - yes I tried it before buying and yes I think it's worth it - but outside of Starcraft II I can't think of any recent game that I've paid over $25 for, especially on Steam.

I'm too cheap to even get into MMOs - I can't justify paying $15/$10/whatever a month because well, that's usually how much I pay for a new game!

Do you guys wait, or do you guys have to have the newest and the greatest as soon as it is released?

Stupid TDU2.
Full price, 40 bucks.
Piece of garbage.

But I've got 500 dollar packs for 60 bucks so it all evens out in the end.

Count me in as one of the cheap-asses. I've learned my lesson about buying games brand new (looking at you, Civ V! :banghead:), plus with such a ridiculous backlog of games, I wait til one of the 2 major sales each year and restock the backlog then.

Although Skyrim may change that

I got ArmA 2 back when it came out for $49.99. After that, RE5 $14.99, beyond that games have all been less than $10 and anything that cost me more than that was a multigame pack.

I will probably buy RO2 for $35.99, other than that I'm pretty much waiting daily deals or summer/christmas sale.

Speaking of that, how much you think Skyrim will drop to for the christmas sale, lol?

Also, this is as good a place as any to throw this in : It would be awesome if steam could take your game library and tell you the maximum install size if all games were installed at once.

Paid $45 or so for Arma II Combined Ops a couple of months back. It was a gift to my brother so we could both play online. It was worth it, and most physical copies were more.

Most games though are only purchased during sales, usually between $5 and $15.

Don't think I've spent over $7 on any game on steam. I'm so far behind I tend to get the games that are on sale for $5.

$20 for DA:O Ultimate.

Over $50 for DA:O Ultimate - after I'd paid more than that on the PS3, and haven't even installed it on the PC.

Oops.

consolation for those who pay a lot: you are helping better games get made. If no one pays more, we'll get a lot of 'casual' and budget games.

witcher 2. whatever it costs cause its the only steam game i have on there. with EA games not being on steam anymore, not sure i want to make steam exclusive or put much money into it when i can get it elsewhere without the steam app attachment.
I wish you could use other accounts integrate into the steam client or if everyone would back up just one single service like consoles do. i hate segregation of services.

Paid $60 on pre-order for CIV V Deluxe edition. Talk about a case of "surprise, buttsecks!"

I usually wait though for a sale or GOTY edition. Not enough free time anymore to justify paying full price on release only to have it sit around for a while.

I've paid full price for a few: Fallout 3, DA:O

I don't regret those purchases at all, but most games I purchare are during the major sales, at least 50% off.

Call of Duty 4 when I lived in Europe and Steam was still bad for tax & conversion rates. Cost $83.66 in total.

Paid around $40 for ME1 a while back. Worth every penny.

Paid more for DA2, (like $60) but that was not on Steam. It was only worth the money because Bioware threw in ME2 for free a while after.
