What's the most amount of money that you lost?

Inspired by the "how much money have you found" thread. That money has to come from somewhere!

A couple years ago I was going to buy a cowboy hat, and because of where I was buying it, I had to pay cash. So I stop by the ATM and take out $200, it's in 20s, of course. Sit the cash on the passenger seat, drive out of the bank, onto the main road, without even thinking that I had the windows down and sunroof open. The money all blew out the window, into the air, about 30 feet, then blew in different directions.

Oh man, OP. That REALLY sucks!

I have no idea how much I've lost at any one given time...since it was gone, I may not have even noticed it missing.

I do know, however, that if I found money in my pants pocket that I obviously put on somebody else's pants! LOL

Working overtime during the holidays, we got payed out in cash, or would have to wait till the new year for checks. We closed up around 10pm & I stuffed 2k into my pants & grabbed the last minute gifts I bought to take home. I was walking fast because it was late & I must of dropped the cash somewhere near the store. Luckly, I lived near the store & spent about half an hour looking around for the money. I found it wet near the sewer drain. I don't think I lost much except my sanity that night. 🙂
