BTW, for that price, I have 2 per system

1 UPS for CPU
1 UPS for the monitors

At least 45 minute of power or more. I tested up to 1 hr on light loads.

I got a really nice Belkin 525VA on sale at Office Depot for $99. I don't know if that was a nationwide thing though, but it is still going on near my house.
I use it to keep my main computer and another that is soon-to-be-a Linux server on during short power outages. I never have power outages that last longer than 5 minutes, so I never consider an UPS that is more than $110 with tax (or shipping).

Get an APC! That is a must. Also, 500 should be enough since my 650 is at 50% with an Athlon and 17" monitor. I know someone with a K6-2 500 and 19" monitor who has an APC PowerCell 200. I do not reccommend that but it could keep it running. Though it was constantly beeping. Note: Don't get APC PowerCell.

I definitely have the answer for you:

www.outpost.com

then put "CyperPower" into the search field.

$79.99 for 700VA and includes shutdown software (recently came down $20 in price).
