What's the minimum size tablet to read magazines with?

I still don't have a tablet but was wondering if a 7inch screen is too small to read magazine type PDF files?
Anyone have thoughts?

You can do it on a 7 inch, but when I compare 7 and 10, its a night and day difference. 7 feels like you're sticking it in front of your face to get the optimum viewing. The same goes with watching movies.

But all of this is probably only noticeable if you compare. Most 7" tablet owners will tell you how happy they are.

I like my 7" Memo Pad for its portability and low price, but I use it more as a casual Facebook/Youtube/web browsing device than an e-reader. If you mainly use the tablet for reading, you probably want to go 10" at the highest resolution you can afford.

I could never get any of my tablets to read mags properly. Never went full screen and always had to scroll up and down and left and right too much. I stopped trying long ago. Is there a better mag reader out now for a 8.4" screen? Its been a coupla years since I even tried.

I have a nexus 7 and an ipad. The nexus 7 was always too small for comfortable viewing of magazines in pdf form. I would find myself zooming in on all the text to read it and then swiping around to look at the rest of the page. It was awkward and cumbersome. The ipad is much better. No zooming around necessary. The ipad is also better for digital comic books for much the same reason although the cell format of comics lends itself better to zooming in on part of a page.

I'd say 9 to 10 inches, preferably closer to 10. They're dandy on my iPad Air... on the smaller tablets I've used, you end up squinting a bit.

I disagree, I think there screen ratio matters more. I prefer to watch things on my Nexus 7 2013 than my iPad Air 2.

For reading stuff its not even close. The Nexus 7 is closer to a phone than the iPad is to it.

I have a 7 inch and an 8 inch tablets. The 8 inch one is much easier on the eyes.

8 inches I'd say. A slightly better balance of holding the tablet comfortably and having a large enough screen.

8 inch tablets is definitely one place a super thin tablet with good battery life is paramount though.

Depends on the magazine layout. I use Zinio on my Tab Pro 8.4.

With Newsweek, I can actually read in landscape mode for two page display. But for Businessweek, I have to read in portrait mode for single page display as TPD is too small.

If you're planning on displaying full page content a full page at a time there is no subsitute for size. 10" or go home. 7" Doesn't hack it even if it has the same resolution.

8" is preferable as a minimum. Ideally 10" (or 9", if looking at Nexus 9).
