I think for everyone, it is getting the most for the least amount of input for everything, including religion.
What the hell does this mean? Getting the most with the least effort?
It means exactly what it says.
Which is?

You put in a minimum amount and try get the maximum amount in return.
Well that's a nice way to generalize people.

Perhaps you would like to offer some insight?
I don't know, if i did i would be selling it
L0L, thanks. Your statememnt there says a lot about you.
... but i certainly don't project my own motivation onto others.
Did you read the original post, read it again.

Why must life have meaning? Perhaps it just simply is...

If it has a purpose, if anything I'd say it's to fight entropy.

There is no meaning of life. It's the question that has no answer because it starts out with an untrue assumption, which is that life has some innate meaning. Does a dog sit still under a moonlit sky and wonder, "What does it all mean?". Does a roach lie awake at night analyzing the direction it's life is taking and wondering, "But what else is there? What am I SUPPOSED to do?" Humans do because that gift which separates us from other animals, imagination, is also our curse. Imagination allows us to create things which do not currently exist, it also causes us to obsess on the unknown. With all the possibilities we can imagine as our destiny, the possibility that like other animals we live to eat, sleep, play, and procreate is the least palatable. Look, we build skyscrapers. We build bombs. We make medicine. We created an illusion and live inside of it. How can we not be special? How can we not be superior? The question is, "What is the meaning of YOUR life?" That question has an answer which can only be determined by the answerer. The answer is correct.

What is the meaning of life? Nothing. Whatever you say it is. Continuing life.
