I have a samsung 8 port 10/100 hub and cannot find a manual for some of the features,
but I know that they are similar to most others so I wonder who can help me with this??

My 9th port is labeled MDI...Is this like a uplink?

Is this where I can put my cable modem into??

If so, would it need a crossover? It has no switch for the port.

Thx guys....

Yes, the MDI port is an uplink. You can plug anyother MDI-X port into it without a crossover (hub, switch, cable modem)

If you want to use it with a host NIC (MDI port) then you'll need crossover.

cheers!
