What's the maximum distance current hybrid vehicles can go?

Remember, this is distance *on batteries alone*

I can't remember whose hybrid it is. I want to say GM has one that will go ~40miles on batteries alone.

If anyone knows (or can point me in the right direction) I'd appreciate it

The Prius is about 12 miles or so, assuming 100% flat land and no funny business. A good driver using pulse and glide can get much, much more.

Because Chevy Volt is a plugin hybrid. That's what it's made to do. I don't know if you can charge the battery to full capacity with regular driving or only plugged in though...
