What's the maximum CPU upgrade for my old Jetway BX133 board?

(I also posted my question in the CPU forum, but maybe someone here can help too.)

I have a Jetway "Ultra BX133" board and the old manual says I can use a CPU up to a 600Mhz Pentium III, but I'm hoping it will take something faster. The board can take either a Slot-1 or Socket 370 CPU and currently is running a Celeron 400 (Socket 370) chip.

The board is based on a VIA VT82C693A Apollo BX133 chipset. The manual gives the following jumper options:

CPU Freq: 66/100/133/150MHz
Ratio 2.0x to 8.0x (in 0.5 increments)

Going by those numbers 8x100 = 800Mhz or 8x133=1064Mhz, I'm guessing it would take up to an 800Mhz Celeron or 1GHz P3. Am I close?

What I don't know is the voltage settings of the chipset or those CPUs. Does anyone have any ideas? (The board was designed for PII-266 to PIII-600 chips, so what type of voltage range would that be?) I want to avoid buying a Slocket/Slot-key or Powerleap, if possible.

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried looking at its website for info or new BIOS revisions? I know my old BH6 was able to accept a 1GHz Celeron using a newer BIOS.

i would venture to say a 1Ghz PIII or a 1.1Ghz CuMine Celeron.

the multiplier doesnt count, as the chip is locked. but it would probably be a good idea to flash the BIOS.

The site has a few bios updates, but it doesn't have any info about what chips are supported. I guess I'll just flash it with the latest and see what chips come up in the bios menu.

Any ideas about potential voltage problems? Might it be possible to run a Celeron 1.3A, for example?

nah, wont support those celerons, but it should support the coppermine ones (fastest is 1.1 [non-A])

the tulatin has a different pinout and voltage requirements (1.5v IIRC)

in order to run the tulatin you'll need one of those powerleap deals (severely overpriced IMO)
