Hi
I have the MSI KM4M-L board, and I am looking to buy a 160GB hard drive, I was wondering whether the board readily supports it with BIOS 6734v12 (released 15 Oct 2003) or do I have to update the BIOS to 6734v14 (released 17 Feb 2004)?
Couldn't find it on google...

It should be fine. The southbridge supports up to ATA-133, and part of that spec is 48 bit LBA, which lets it see drives larger than 137GB.

MSI's Compatibility Test Report shows the KM4M-L passed tests with several 'big drives', the largest being a Maxtor ATA/133 250GB HDD. Compatibility reports are usually based on first release BIOS or even pre-release versions, so there should be no problem.

But there have been two BIOS updates since v1.2, I would just grab the latest BIOS.

My second system uses that board. Get the newest BIOS 1.4. How is the board working for you? Mine works good but I am only using an XP2100+ Tbred and 512 meg ram.
