My new record is 3 hours and 3 minutes, after which I gave up. What? Why, yes, apparently I have no life.

I don't specifically recall, but I'm pretty sure it's way less than 3 hours.

4 hours something with Expedia in March 2020 when I was trying to cancel my hotel during COVID when all the state stay-at-home orders went into place.

I give them 10-15 minutes at the most.

I've had some pretty epic hold times waiting to talk an airline representative due to weather delays or some other large scale mishap. My favorite was when I just asked if it was possible to change flights and she came back on line to say she canceled my confirmed flight and waitlisted me for the flight I wanted. Told her to change it back and my seat was already gone. I probably spent 4-5 hours on hold that day waiting for various call center staff to try and unfuck that situation (because they had to call another airline and wait on hold)

Not technically on hold, but I was on a troubleshooting session with MS for about 10 hours a few years ago, a lot of it was on hold...

Between one and two hours, I think. My Android phone has a callback option last I checked, so I shouldn't have to wait that long anymore. 🤞

I work for the phone company. I am the one who puts people on hold. (said in a Walter White voice)

Seriously though we also deal with other telcos and other companies... so yeah I've been put on hold for long times. I never really timed it so honestly don't remember the longest. If it goes over an hour I tend to give up and call back later.

We used to have to call Hydro Quebec a lot before they had their outage map and I've found myself on hold for over an hour during big storms so I can report outages. Some of our buildings are in secluded areas where we might be the only customer on that side line so if we don't report it, nobody else will. And if our batteries run out people are without service.
