Nero said i got firmware 5S07. Is there a newer one after this version? Is it worth upgrading the firmware if there is a new one out?

Thanks In Advance..

Not 2 hours ago I bought a LiteOn 24x10x40 CD-RW and the Nero disk that came with it indicates it's version 5.5.
I was always under the impression that one should not necessarily upgrade unless there were problems due to older drivers. Is that not the best policy? Perhaps you're wanting to upgrade because you feel you're missing out on some new feature?
How old is your LiteOn drive?

Oh, I just went to the LiteOn web site and I understand now. 😀

Well i just got the liteon today from a trade with another memeber from anandtech. It works flawlessly, maybe i'll update it when it fixes major problems or its like a major update.

Its been said a couple times that the new Lite-On firmware might disable SD2 burning (like the new Plextor firmware) but I may be mistaken.

Yes the latest version of the plextor firmwares, 1.02 and 1.03 read and burn sd2 just fine. However SD2 version 2.51 may not be able to burnt, this is speculation thus far though.
