What if it's contained in one file, like a rar? That is one file, isn't it?

I never see a single rar file that large. It's always split into parts.

You guys are talking about multi file downloads.

I downloaded discs 1 and 2 of Keen Eddie in .iso format. 4.35 gb each. 1 file each.

But Top Gear seasons 1-6 was 20 gb and The Shield 1-5 was 21 gb. Lots of files there.

Time to finish? Figure 150kb/s until done. 1.5mb every 12 seconds, 7.5 mb a minute and so on.

Depends. If you mean HTTP download, I think about 4.3 GB. If you mean torrents, I think I'm well over 20 GB.

Like others the largest files I've downloaded, or largest single download, have been TV series. Can't remember which is the biggest but some of the Star Trek seasons were quite large 7-8 Gigs or so. Just downloaded the complete Justice League, 7Gigs.

some linux dvd isos probably. i suprisingly really don't download much...and would probably give up my maximum download speed if i could be guaranteed snappier internet...not saying its slow now, but i feel that the internet feels "faster" if its made snappy. you can have a 20 mbit connection, but still have it feel "slow"

Maybe something in the realm of 175-200megs since I've had cable internet

I think back in the days when I had dialup I downloaded an 80meg file once. Took forever.

probably something like a game demo, never over 2 gigs though. not really into games much anymore, but the longest I've waited was probably half a day. my friend used to wait a whole day for N64 games back when we were in high school... we both still ran dial up back then!

I got a new wireless N card, ... the speeds and range... are... incredible compared to wireless G.

The largest single file was a huge picture of the earth in raw format.
took me several days at a speed of 5KB/s, at 95% the source went down :brokenheart:

30-40 gigs, someone's harddrive backup
Since it was over 100 megabit ethernet, only took an hour or so

Maybe 669 MB for American Beauty as DivX. And I downloaded it on dialup.

XP Service Pack 2 was big as well and took 1/2 hr.
