What's the highest voltage you guys give your ram?

I have some pc3500 geil and the operating range was up to 2.9v for my sticks..I can only give it 2.78-2.8 due to my abit board...If I could give it the SOB 3.0v I would!!!!


2.8v is generally pretty safe for most pc3200 or greater ram...I use to run my pc3000 corsair ram at 2.8v for over 1-1/2 years at speeds ranging 410ddr to 450ddr....

i have Geil PC4000 and it is rated to 3.1V :Q

it ran on 3.1V 24/7 on my friends mobo but i forget what mobo he was using.

ferrarifreak93, the best advice anyone can give you is to go check out Kingston's website and see what they recommend as safe voltage for hyper x.

My Mushkin 3500 Level 2 RAM is only elgible for lifetime warranty as long as no more than 1.75v are allocated to the RAM.

Geil is good stuff. They rate all their RAM at 3.0V minimum. If you go to the website of the RAM manufacturer you should be able to find some specs. Some companies also have discussion forums where you could ask questions.

The specsheet on kingston's website is for the newer 2.6v (I believe CH-5) memory (it says 2.6-2.8v is okay) but I don't see any specsheets for the older 2.5v (BH-5) stuff. I would think the BH-5 would be fine at up to 2.8v right?

I run my Crucial PC2100 and PC2700 @ 2.8 been running fine for 2 years.

My PC4000 HyperX (CH-5 chipset) likes lower voltages. I get errors in MemTest86 at 2.75v and up. No problems at 2.65V and below.

Yep it depends on the chips as Winbond and Hynix can take the v's whereas Samsung doesn't like em much. 3.2 is tops for me.

I ran pc3500 hyperx at 2.9 volts and it worked well.

I think the HyperX PC3500 is BH-5. The HyperX PC4000 is CH-5.

Crucial's PC2100 is all officially rated for 2.5v. DO you think that it is ok to up it a bit to like 2.7v?

2.7v is fine, raise it in the smallest incriments you can though to maintain stability.
