My friend just got one of these CPUs with a Golden Orb. He has attempted to overclock yet, but just want to know whats the highest voltage he should try? His case is very well cooled. All IDE cables are cut and rounded, all power wires are tied up and attached to the a case with some clips, 1 120mm intake fan and 1 120mm exhaust fan as well as the power supply fan. He wants to o/c it as high as possible.

most people would say 1.85 as a safe max.

the orb is ok, but when you increase the voltage you will get more heat. tell your fiernd to get an Alpha.

You 'probably' won't have to go to 1.85 with an Orb and a cb0. 1.85v would be the safe maximum.

I would try up to 2.1 but wouldn't run higher than 1.85 for any extended period of time

2.1v is too high - I had a friend who cracked his P3-700's core at 2.0v.
