There is a guy on the pcpitstop site that has the same mobo as I do and same 2.4c and he has his OC to 3686MHz he has two sticks of 256mb OCZ PC3700EL. I can on get mine up to around 3142mhz but I also have pc2700. IS that is high as it goes? How high can the 3.0c go?

man his so CPU and MOBO temp is cooler than mine non OCd

3.6 isnt as rare on air as you might think if things are done right. Many companies online put out overclocked computers consistantly at 3.5. If you get good airflow and take off that pentium top that makes the processor about 5 c hotter and know what your doing, with some overclockers ram and alot of voltage, it can be done

Look for cpus of week 21 or newer....I have seen many do 3.2ghz and actually quite a few do 3.4ghz especially with the later dates as I mentioned....

I can also mention I have seen a couple week 21 2.6c's that made it to 3.5ghz aircooled and less then 1.7v....

As for zamacman1....

p4c 2.4ghz at 3.142ghz takes a 262fsb and even if you run 3:2 ratio (the lowest available) you still will be running at 350mhz or just slightly better. i would expect the ram could do that since it is rated at 333mhz ddr...have you raised the vdimm up to say 2.7v??? If not do so. It could be the limiting factor.

I bet the guy running 300fsb+ and getting to 3.6ghz is running water-cooled. Also remember as the fsb raises the chipset starts to draw more juice and take more heat. You need to raise the vagp to 1.6 to 1.7v if you have it. This may also help....

What vcore are you running at, at 3.142ghz???

3.0c should likely oc a bit more then the 3.142ghz but likely wont do a whole lot better then what I mentioned above. The lower fsb can definitely help it on ram limiting systems as possibly yours and mobos that do not like the high fsb's....

I can get above 3.4 before my ram gives out. I only do 1:1 though, so I guess I'll never know how high I could really go.

i have a 2.6c @ 3.0ghz right now, 231fsb / Geil 3500 Ultra Platinum 2x256 / 5:4 ratio / 1.625vcore, this is pretty much my max stable. My system specs are below, anyone got any ideas on what my limiter is?
