What's the hardest college course you've ever taken?

during jc, grad school, undergrad, whatever...

right now i'm in my 3rd year as an undergrad and so far ABSTRACT linear algebra was a killer 🙁

when i first thought about linear algebra, i was thinking it would be cake since all you would deal with are matrices and such...but NOPE...abstraction made it umpteen times harder ~_~

so what was tough for you (if you ever struggled)?

Calculus III so far..Most of it has been pretty simple, but these last few lessons have me struggling. Everything else so far in college has been really easy.

But if you include high school, AP Physics was hell. And plus it was a year long course, meeting 5 days a week, bleh.

taken many classes, all are pretty straight forward and average, the only class im having difficulty in right now is this damn Finance II one

danny~!

never really had a course i would consider hard... i've had classes where i just didnt study...

i've taken real analysis, undergrad introduction to topology, a complete undergrad abstract algebra sequence... nothing really hard there...

orgo is more like memorization.

i woudl say quantum mechanics or dynamics would be hard... i suppose...

Math 152 when I had a Chinese instructor and a Russian TA, the prof talked like he never heard of english (I never understood a word out of his mouth, and his writing on the board was HORRIBLE), the TA spoke english like it was his 8th langauge and he had never learned #'s 2-7, and his handwriting was even worse than my teachers. The book was mediocre, and 152 is the "hump" class for the calc series here. After taking a class like that, I may not condone people climbing into clock towers and shooting whatever moves, but... lets just say I understand.

I think the hardest class I took was this 100 level honors computer science course. It sucked because we were writing programs that used math that we wouldn't see until we were seniors. So, we had to learn the math, learn LaTeX, along with C. All of which we had to do on our own time, because our lectures involved the "theory" about how to write computer programs.

i am on a semester system too... calc 4.. math 244? stuff on green's theorem?

okay... try circuit analysis 2... with signal analysis....

beat that biatch.

I really, really, really hate literature classes.

yep i hated any class that had to do with the arts because it seemed like a big waste of time.

compiler design. 10 weeks no partner, horrible book. probably was hard since i went to lecture a total of 1 time. but i had gotten away with it before.

i figured it out by the end. had to mod some MIP assembly at the end, pretty neat.

i tried taking calculus 3 times 😱

withdrew the first two times, failed the 3rd time, then quit trying

my math skillz are lame 🙁

everyone has a weakness

Nah Physical Chemisty was fun - unless u really had to work the Schrödinger... 😀

Continuum mechanics + Einstein notation = teh suck

math 244 (calc 4) and EE213 (circuit analysis II) with intro to signal analysis involving state space, fourier transform, forier series, laplace transform (this one's alright i guess), filter design, etc. this is my 2nd semester as a soph and i'm DYING. to top it off i have a professor that doesn't speak english, needless to say he can't teach and the book isn't all that great either (better than the professor though). oh yea, and to add to that...our professor teaches some things that aren't in the text, (or if it is there's only like 1 or 2 poorly written pages on the subject).

True, physical chemistry (quantum mechanics) or even biophysical chemistry was hard.....but I agree with you, only classes that I didn't study were the hardest. Don't know if it's more because of getting older or getting lazier, there seem to be more hard courses to me now than ever.....

i sort of feel that way (although i might not be as old as you are) my memory pretty much has gone to the crappers, takes longer for me to retain info, and if i retain the info it's only for short periods of time (like right before tests then after, i'd say a good 50-75% just disappears...)
