Whats the general opinion of Gothic 4?

Steam version is 10 bucks. Worth it?

FYI, 1 and 2 were excellent. I never beat 3, though I understand the Community patches did clean it up a lot. Opinion of the G3 expansion, Forsaken Gods, is . . . low.

Should I pull the trigger?

Although I haven't played it, review seems horrible. Doesnt look like to be a Gothic game anyway. Get Risen instead. or Skyrim

I would wait for Oblivion IV to go on sale, and get it.

Awhile back Steam had the gothic series on sale, so I picked it up. Lets just say I was not impressed.

Correct. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Not Oblivion IV.

But again, I already have it. And haven't even installed it in over a year. Its not worth the effort. I tried the demo for Risen a while back, but didn't really get into it.

Guessing its a No vote on Gothic 4, even at the 10 dollar price point.

Wasn't there a giant community mod that really fixed up this game? I thought I read a thread about it lemme see if I can find it.

Having played about 8 hours of it, I wouldn't get it at $10. Its just not an enjoyable game, the only reason I made it 8 hours was because I was trying to convince myself it would eventually get better. I recommend Risen, Two Worlds II, or Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga if you are looking for something similar.
