-A logger my dad used to work with was named Corky Sapp.
-My dad's nickname, middle name, and last name are all brands of beer. My grandparents did not do this on purpose. His nickname as a young kid was "Buddy" and it was shortened to Bud when he got older, and he goes by it. Ironically, he has all of maybe three beers a year.
-This isn't a funny spelling, but rather a cute pronunciation story. My mom knew a couple who had moved from somewhere in Asia (I think China) and had strong accents. Someone had told them that to fit in, they should change their names to typical "American" names, so they chose Lucy and Larry but called themselves "Rucy and Rarry". When they had a baby, they named him Vincent, but couldn't pronounce Vs either, so they called him "Wincent".
-High school principal (or vice principal?) in the next town over: Dick Johnson. You can imagine that went over well with teenagers.
