Well you asked the first thing. That isn't what I typically think of California. I typically think of mountains and trees. I lived in Selma CA (near Fresno) from age 0 to 5. But the only times I go back are to visit relatives in the mountainous areas.

I never think of beaches. California beaches suck because the water is too cold to have fun in.
