Whats the ferite used for on a computer case?

I got some ferite ring thingy that came with my case. No mention of it in the manual.. so whats it used for?

Dunno about the case, but doesn't the small canister just south of your monitor's VGA plug have ferrite in it? I remember reading in my ATI Radeon manual that some older monitors didn't have this ferrite core on their cables and that you should buy one and put it on there for some reason. Perhaps your case manufacturer is trying to be uber-helpful?
