I forgot what my RPMs were but it would probably top out at 110mph or less. It felt pretty smooth at that speed but that was my only try since even in remote, back roads, there is still enough cops where you don't want to speed like that for more than a rare, short instance.

Back when I was young and stupid (I'm 20 now so I'm still young tho...) I hit 100mph. Stupidest idea in the world. I never go more than 10 mph over the speed limit anymore-- not worth it.

I've done 165mph once or twice in my Esprit. I was driving, and my sister was trying to make a video of the speedometer, but camera was too shaky.

Note: I don't do that anymore. Now I don't go 10 or 15 over the speedlimit. That was back in the days...

Happened to me in a 01 focus. I was on I-10 50 west of jax.

Same speed as the last 4 times this question was asked.

When I was stationed out in the Mojave Desert I was a very short trip away from Death Valley.
Up in that area you can see 20+ miles in any direction. Plenty of long, straight roads to mess around on.

I managed to get my crummy little Mazda 5 up to about 139. It was kinda cool but I'll never do it again.
Even if I get rich someday I wont be buying a sports car. Too easy to make mistake.
Though I will say I paid very close attention to what I was doing. When you're going over 130 miles an hour you have a very serious appreciation for your mortality.

Mine has a twin turbo V8 (3.5liter). If thats what you mean by the new motor, vs the 4cyl.
