What is the fastest you have ever driven?
Adding the type of car would be nice too.

128 in Cadillac Catera.
The speed limiter is rated at 125.

I once hit between 85-90 (speedometer is only marked up to 85) on my '93 Ford Escort Wagon.

Not sure, my '66 Chevelle Super Sport 396ci speedo only went to 120, but the car kept accelerating past that for some time. Never was lucky enough to have a highway patrolman give me an accurate reading. :D

About 115 in my '67 Camaro and my '67 GTO....they got pretty floaty-feeling at that speed :Q

Funny, there's 3 votes for 160+ but no posts to tell the tale :disgust:

About 140 in my dodge before the front gets too light to steer.

I have been in a ferarri doing a little over 180, but I was not the driver.

<edit>
the speedo only goes to 120, and have never been clocked on the open road.

118 in my Prelude(non-VTEC)...I think that was nearing the top, even though the speedo goes up to 140

I'm 17, just got my license about a month ago and the highest I ever did is around 85mph on the highway using a 97 Suburu Legacy. I didn't go that fast on purpose, I was going down a hill on the highway @ about 65 and the car's momentum pushed it up to 85. I physically felt light-weighted doing 85 so I slowed back down to 65. The sad part is...while I was doing 85, people were still passing me on the highway.

Note: The Highway's speedlimit is 55.

on 271 or 480 here in cleveland, doing under 85 is a big no-no. In fact, very few people go under 70 in the slow lane. Personally, I try and keep it under 90, above that, I don't trust my reaction time.

149.075 MPH (241 KM/h) in my uncle's 1993 Nissan 300ZX TT on Bruce County Road 3.

We were late for my great grandmother's 80th birthday party/family reunion. :)

137 on flat land in my '67 Riviera. The speedo goes to 140.

Went beyond that once, going downhill, not sure how much beyond, my friend told me there were no more numbers.:) I was racing a vette coming back from Hot August Nights in Reno last year. He gained a car length on me starting at about 80. VERY scary slowing down with drum brakes at that speed. :Q
