Abit NF7-S 2.0 (not the NF7-S2)

/thread

It's simply THE BEST motherboard I've ever used. Overclocks like a demon and never gave me a problem. 7.1 channel sound is pointless if you don't have a 7.1 channel speaker system.

I loved my A7N8X Deluxe dearly, I missed the rock stability and amazing onboard audio on my now dead MSI Neo 2.

Look up some of the reviews on the DFI LanParty nfii's. They topped anything offered by any other MB maker. But you had so many settings to juggle than an entire book could be written about how to get the most out of those DFI's. Today, they are in the same spot for A64's.

There was a big following for Shuttle AN35N-Ultra boards. Great overclockability and dirt cheap pricing. I still have one, NIB, if anyone's interested. ;)

I vote for the Abit NF7-S R2 also. It was the best mobo I'd ever used up through NF3.

It's about an extremely affordable board that also overclocked well, especially with an L12 mod. Just about as well as teh NF7_S, just cheaper but with no SATA or MCP-T for real soundstorm. The AN35N Ultrs was also highly reliable. NF7-S has MCP-T and SATA.

Here you go. One done on an NF7_S. Allows insane overclocks ( 245-250+ FSB).

Another web page here with a better definition of said L12 mod. Many users of AN35N Ultra's, NF7_S, and DFI Lan Party mobos used the mod. You don't really need it to get moderate overclocks with an AN35N (say 230'ish), and the NF7-S will go a tad higher usually. Both were great motherboards(and are for those still hanging on to K7 motherboards).
