Whats the fastest PCI video card out there?

I want to put together one of those Shuttle NV24 computers so I would need a really good PCI video card for my graphics.

Thanks.

"a Voodoo5500PCI"

I agree. However, will that card work in win2k and XP considering it has two graphics cores. I remember reading that the dual voodoo2 sli on one card Quantum Obsidian X-24 wouldn't work right in those two operating systems.

My Voodoo 5 5500 AGP works great in W2k. Just have to get the right drivers. However, I seriously doubt you could fit the V5 in the Shuttle SV24 cube. Too durn big, my AGP version barely fits in my ATX case.

I haven't run the numbers, but I don't think that DDR is going to make any difference on a PCI video card. The limitation is the 33MHz bus, not the memory.

I'd say the voodoo 5 as well, but it's so big (i'm still amazed at how long it is), you wont be able to fit it into that teeny case. Sorry man

There are several models of Geforce (2, 3, 4, i dont know) MX's out there... won't be nearly as good as an AGP solution but it will do.

DO NOT GET A 3DLABS CARD IF YOU ARE USING IT FOR GAMING! They are made for WORKSTATION High-End 3D and are sllooooowwww at games, and also very expensive.

Geforce 4 MX or Radeon would be my choice.

I would normally vote for the Radeon PCI, but the advent of the GF4MX in PCI flavour would oust that.
Voodoo5 PCI if you have the physical room for that monster, and like older glide games best. Like me. 😉

The PCI bus will make ther card somewhat slower, but the MX440 will still be a good deal faster. The MX420 is barely faster then the GeForce2 MX400. As long as textures can fit in the card's memory, the PCI bus won't slow it down too much.
